INTRODUCTION
This yearly training session has been made available by Data-Afrique to help communication professionals refine their abilities and discover fresh approaches to using communications more successfully while networking with other local and global communicators. Participants learn to strengthen their organizations' capacity to use communications to achieve their social change goals in addition to developing their strategic communication skills..
Participants learn a variety of communication building blocks, from strategy and tactics to assessment and fundraising, while working with leading professionals in the area. Along with these practical skills, participants also learn storytelling, media interviews, presentation delivery, and social media techniques. The practitioners can network, investigate new media, and share insights into what is effective. Internationally diverse facilitators and practitioners enhance the program.
Special themes will be covered annually to enhance participant work.
For instance, developing media, the effectiveness of social media for campaigns, fundraising, the impact of storytelling, and advocacy strategies
COURSE OBJECTIVES
At the end of this course the participants will be able to:
- Participants gain management and leadership skills for communication units or departments;
- Retain your strategic position inside the company by coordinating your communications with its overarching aims and objectives;
- Develop, implement, and assess a thorough communications strategy.
- Decide whether to advocate for policy change or a change in behavior. Community mobilization, fundraising, media advocacy, behavior change communication (BCC), and information education and communication (IEC) campaigns are a few examples of possible strategies. the improvement of internal communication;
- Refine their organizational branding;
- Integrate results-based management into the communication plan.
- Obtain internal "buy-in" from the board, improve internal communications among employees, volunteers, and other important stakeholders, and make sure that the organization's essential themes are continuously reinforced;
- Utilize social media, internet marketing, and digital technology to raise awareness, create communities, and connect with volunteers, supporters, and advocates.
- Create a crisis management plan to cope with the situation.

This module covers how to get buy-in from the top for ambitious PR strategies.

- Our seasoned instructors, who have years of experience as seasoned professionals in their respective fields of work, will be teaching this course. A combination of practical exercises, theory, group projects, and case studies are used to teach the course.
